Join us for an enchanting joint concert featuring two of Reading’s longest running musical groups, Reading Symphony Orchestra and Reading Youth Orchestra. Celebrating 80 glorious years of orchestral music making, the two orchestras will present a magical afternoon of storytelling through music for all the family.

Reading Symphony Orchestra will open the concert with Chabrier's fiery España, Ravel's timeless Pavane pour une infante défunte and the magical allure of Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Reading Youth Orchestra will then take to the stage to transport you to the fantastical realms of Middle-earth with Howard Shore's Symphonic Suite from The Lord of the Rings before both orchestras will join together to perform Elgar's masterpiece, Enigma Variations, a fitting tribute to our shared 80-year musical legacy and friendship.
